J. Timothy Katzen, MD, FACS

         Dr. J. Timothy Katzen is dedicated to helping massive weight loss patients achieve a better-contoured shape through cosmetic plastic surgery procedures. He is an experienced and highly trained professional who is committed to providing patients with a safe surgical process.

          Dr. Katzen received his medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, VA. and then went on to participate in fellowship programs for craniofacial surgery, microsurgery, and burn surgery. He is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery (ABPS), as well as a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) and a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and International College of Surgeons.His attention to detail and compassion towards patients are what provide individuals peace of mind when under his care.

          Dr. Katzen understands that body contouring procedures after massive weight loss are a delicate matter, which is why he has specialized in minimizing scarring after surgery. Patients may anticipate natural-looking results when undergoing their desired procedure with Dr. Katzen.

 
Martha Mozia, DNP, RNFA, FNP-C

          Dr. Martha Mozia is a Board Certified Family and Geriatric Nurse Practitioner and a Certified Dermatology Nurse. She is also a Registered Nurse First Assistant. Dr. Mozia completed her Doctor of Nurse Practice at the Brandman University, a Chapman University System in Irvine, California. Her research pilot project was in weight management and maintenance of weight post-bariatric and reconstructive surgery. Other experience includes working in dermatology and plastic medicine, and providing skin health screening and evaluations for pediatrics to geriatrics patients.

          Dr. Mozia returned to UCLA Extension Surgical First Assistant to be trained to perform advanced procedures in dermatological procedures which include assisting with advanced suturing of complex stitches and assisting in surgery, including post-bariatric body reconstruction, plastic, and dermatologic surgery. She developed a special interest in aesthetics and trained with Trilogy Educator for Advanced aesthetics and injectors. Dr. Mozia specializes in scar reduction, ethnic skin care, and rejuvenation. She uses a patient-centered and holistic approach to Plastic and Dermatological /Aesthetic Medicine.

Jennifer Evans, RN, Director of Education & Research

          Jennifer Evans is the Director of Education and also works as a Research Associate for BSE. She is a Registered Nurse and earned a BA in Chemistry from Reed College. She is currently pursuing her  Masters with a focus in Ambulatory Care in the field of Nursing at Western University of Health Sciences.

          Jennifer has been with the Aesthetic Industry since 2013, and is interested in laser technology and laser safety. She is dedicated to studying community health and the trends and advances in medical treatments and procedures. Jennifer aims to create informational material that will assist clients in understanding and maintaining good health. She is also enthusiastic about preventive and health promotion education.
